In September, we held our 1st Annual Alumni Tug-of-War on Lion & Unicorn Day, where the Unicorns were victorious, but the Lions vowed revenge next year!
Sandia Prep’s 14th Annual Golf Tournament was held at Twin Warriors Golf Club on September 16, where 120 players enjoyed a beautiful day of golf to benefit the School’s financial aid program. Parents Stephen and Lisa Garcia returned as co-chairs, bringing their energy and ideas that made for a fun players’ tournament.

October 5, 2022 marked a happy day for our students and their grandparents. More than 400 grandparents and grandfriends attended Sandia Prep’s annual Grandparents’ Day event, which included a morning of classes where their grandchildren introduced them to teachers and proudly showed their classwork.
Society1966 proudly honors those families, alumni, and organizations that have made a philanthropic investment in Sandia Prep with the contribution of one or more major gifts.
Members gathered in the Anderman Concourse of the McCall Family Theater on October 26 to meet Head of School Heather B. Mock and to review updated donor recognition panels. We recognized the Patterson Family and Howard and Judy Mock for their years of philanthropy to Sandia Prep.
In November, the Prep community joined in #GivingTuesday, the national day of philanthropy, by contributing to the people and programs of the School. The day resulted in 157 donors giving $82,485!
Parents and alumni took a moment to thank teachers past and present for making a difference in their lives.
Over 35 families, most of them alumni, brought their kids to experience the Winter Wonderland @ Prep photo event to kick off the season. It was a fantastic event with families generously donating toiletries, socks, and blankets for homeless service provider HopeWorks. Complimentary photos were taken by Gayle Polansky ’98.
The Prep community was invited to participate in the School's first #ProudToBePrep Spring Giving Week. The seven-day event raised more than $52,000 from 81 donors for the Prep Fund and the Alumni Legacy Fund.

Sandia Prep’s Sundevil Athletic Hall of Fame was created to honor and pay tribute to our student-athletes. The ceremony kicked off the 2023 Alumni Weekend festivities.

Along with a family picnic, alumni vs. current students sports games, kids’ activities, and a fun photo booth, the weekend also welcomed back the Classes of 2002, 2003, 2010, and 2012.
